đ Windletter turns 4
Four years ago, on December 5th, Windletter was born. Looking back at that very first edition (in Spanish), I realise the founding mission remains the same: to satisfy my curiosity and learn a bit more every day about how this sector works and, of course, to share it with all of you.
If you had told the Sergio from back then what Windletter would become four years later, he wouldnât have believed it. Considering weâre forging a new path in an unexplored niche, I truly believe thatâs something to be proud of.
Itâs been four years of hard work of trial and error, of great moments, but also times when I had to grit my teeth and push through. Sometimes Iâve had to give up things I would have preferred to do instead of writing. But if thereâs one thing Iâve learned, itâs that consistency and commitment are the keys to making any project thrive.
And here we are, four years later, still paddling forward, with 5,000 (!) subscribers validating that initial idea.
Just like I did last year, Iâd like to ask you for a small favour. Iâd love to get your feedback and for that, Iâve prepared a short survey.
What do you like? What donât you like? What would you like to see in the future? Where do you think I can improve? Any new ideas⊠Itâs an anonymous survey, so feel free to reply with total honesty and peace of mind.
It takes just 2 minutes to complete, and itâs key to making Windletter a better publication. Click here or hit the button below đ
đ Statistics
Issues: the issues published during the 2025 calendar year are as follows (not counting the ones weâll release before the end of the year):
Windletter: 28 news editions covering one main topic in depth, along with several short news items with commentary.
Windstory: 13 thematic editions or features. In-depth stories and analysis worth telling. You can read them here.
Windguest: 3 guest contributor articles. Got something to say and want to publish it in Windletter? Get in touch with me.
Exclusive/Breaking: we covered in depth the first contracts of Chinese manufacturer Sany in Germany and Spain.
Sponsored or branded content: 5 sponsored editions in collaboration with companies we work with.
One of the goals I set for myself last year was to publish more feature stories, a format I personally enjoy, that tends to perform well, and that allows Windletter to offer unique topics that no one else is covering. I think weâve taken a significant step forward in that regard.
I also want to pause for a moment to comment on the sponsored content. Although some of you might occasionally see it as âspam,â our guiding principle remains the same: we only collaborate with companies or institutions whose values we share and whose products or services we believe can bring real value to our audience.
Moreover, we strive to ensure that every sponsored article has intrinsic value, whether by offering new information or helping to better understand relevant industry topics. And of course, it goes without saying that this kind of collaboration is vital for Windletterâs long-term sustainability.
đ©đŒâđ€âđ§đ» About the audience
Since I know you usually enjoy seeing some audience stats, here they are.
Subscribers (â 2,000 in the English edition and growing):
Page views (around 12,000 per month):
The best way to keep growing is, without a doubt, word of mouth, so if youâd like to give me a hand, recommend Windletter to your friends and colleagues. It doesnât cost you anything, and Iâll be endlessly grateful.
Itâs also worth highlighting the growth of the LinkedIn account, where weâve surpassed 13,000 followers.
đŒ Sponsors
Once again, Iâd like to publicly thank our main sponsors Tetrace, RenerCycle, and Nabrawind for their trust. Without their support, Windletter would not be possible.
Many thanks also to our other collaborators: Ravenwits, FYCMA, Endesa, CITE, Taniwa, and UPC School.
đŻ Reflections and goals for 2026
2026 is going to be a different kind of year for Windletter because, if all goes well, weâll be welcoming a new member to the family by the end of January đ¶. So wish me luck, and feel free to send any advice, if such a thing exists đ
I still need to figure out exactly how Iâll organize myself, but the idea is to have some âWindstoryâ feature articles scheduled during my parental leave. Iâm already working on a few I think youâre really going to enjoy. In exchange, weâll be pressing pause on the regular news editions for a little while.
So for now, the first goal for 2026 is to adapt to this new life. And from there, weâll see what new things we can build (Iâve got no shortage of ideas) đ
Thank you very much.
Sergio
